The SCANCOS Annual Conference

16/11/2017 - Copenhagen

The Scandinavian Society of Cosmetic Chemists organized a conference entitled "Sustainability - today & tomorrow",which gathered together the most important R&D formulators, marketing people and other important decision makers from the cosmetic industry of the Nordic countries. Representatives from RI.SE attended the event with the talk "Circular Economy: the formulators perspective". More info here.

Algae Biorefineries for Europe

Algae Biorefineries for Europe is a joint conference organized by D-factory together with other three European projects that have focused over the last four years on the potential of microalgae as the crop of the future. 



14/08/2017 - Nelson, New Zealand

The workshop brought together algal researchers and industry representatives from NewZealand and UK to discuss progress and opportunities in the exploitation of microalgae, particularly as feedstock for aquaculture and as sustainable sources of novel bio-products. Patricia Harvey was there to represent the D-Factory. More info here.

ICOM 2017

30/07/2018 - San Francisco, USA

The International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes is the preeminent global event for the membrane science and engineering community. The 11th ICOM 2017 focused on "Enabling Membrane Technology" to overcome the challenges to replacing conventional technology in separations, energy production, and other applications. IBET was there with talk "Harvesting of Dunaliella salina by membrane filtration monitored by 2D Fluorescence".

International Society of Applied Phycology

22/06/2017 - Nantes, France

The scope of the 6th edition of ISAP congress was to appreciate the huge phycological biodiversity and the diversity of its biotechnological applications through the prism of a new and promising industrial sector in full development. The Congress included speakers and posters presentations, exhibitors and for the first time a BtoB session to meet the right partners. Representatives from UoG and MBA presented the D-Factory in 2 talks and 2 posters. More info here.

Partners from the Hafren Investment Limited attended the Bio-Based live conference from the 31st of May to the 1st of June in Amsterdam.

CEN BTWG218 Workshop on European Algal Standards

09/05/2017 - Brussels, Belgium

This workshop was organized to inform both EABA members and non-EABA members about the upcoming development of European standards for Algae and Algae Products. Speakers from, amongst others, the EC, the Algae Industry, and NEN informed the 35 attendees on these European Algae standards, and their potential impact. Representatives of D-factory attended the event.

11th Panhellenic Scientific Conference of Chemical Engineering

Partners from NTUA have presented some of the latest results from the D-factory in a talk entitled "Design and Techno-economic Assessment of a Microalga Biorefinery for the Production of High-Value Chemicals".
